Intensive therapy unit for patients with acute cerebral circulatory disorders opened in "Yudino" treatment and rehabilitation clinical centre on February 2, 2023.
The department is intended for medical rehabilitation of patients with impaired functioning and extreme disability requiring round-the-clock care at the second stage of medical rehabilitation.
Patients with severely impaired vital functions, profound motor deficits (tetraplegia) and bulbar disorders that force the patient to remain in the intensive care ward are admitted to the unit.
Medical rehabilitation activities in the unit are carried out immediately upon admission, on a daily basis, lasting at least 3 hours and often longer.
Medical rehabilitation in the intensive care unit is carried out by a joint team of specialists: an anaesthesiologist and intensive care specialist, a neurologist, a doctor of physical and rehabilitation medicine, a medical psychologist, a psychotherapist, a medical speech therapist, a physiotherapist, an occupational rehabilitation specialist.
The unit makes extensive use of:
- restorative rehabilitation using a package of measures in combination with navigational rhythmic transcranial magnetic stimulation;
- low-frequency magnetotherapy (alternating magnetic field);
- phototherapy (IR laser therapy, magnetic laser therapy, ultraviolet radiation, photochromotherapy, red light);
- massage;
- manual therapy techniques;
- mechanotherapy;
- exercise therapy;
- verticalization.
The unit provides a comprehensive approach to ensure a complete rehabilitation of the patient, with due regard for all of his/her physiological features and chronic diseases.
Basic therapy is performed, tailored to the individual course of the disease, monitoring and control of the work of all organs and systems of the patient.
